The Shoes, Books, and Breakfast Initiative exists to remove barriers for students so they can focus on learning and thriving.
Studies show that children who start their day with a nutritious meal exhibit greater engagement, improved academic performance, and enhanced overall well-being (ResearchGate). Likewise, access to essential school supplies, including proper footwear and books, ensures that students feel prepared and confident in their learning environments. Through BAAIA, we partner with local schools to provide these crucial resources, ensuring every child has the support they need. Thanks to generous sponsors and dedicated volunteers, we make a tangible difference in students’ daily lives.

The newly introduced Monday Breakfast Club at Bracken Ridge State High School has had a profound and positive impact on our school community. Thanks to the generous donations personally delivered each Monday morning by Robyn, we are now able to provide breakfast to a number of students, as well as lunches and snacks throughout the week. Beyond meeting nutritional needs, the program has fostered a strong sense of connection and belonging. It has brought together a diverse group of volunteers — including staff members, senior students, and local community seniors — all working side by side to prepare and share food. The Breakfast Club has become more than a meal service; it’s a powerful example of community in action.
